How to Reduce Back Pain and Sciatica.
Many people suffer from lower back pain. Being overweight can be an underlying factor in back pain. Especially if you carry your weight in your belly. This pulls your spine out of alignment. Obesity is the number one preventable disease in the United States. Weight loss will alleviate the pain and may, eliminate it.
You need to find the best weight loss program for you. Each person has their own needs. You must change your attitude, and lifestyle. You must find ways to motivate yourself to stick with your plan.
A good attitude is essential. You must believe that you can lose the weight! Start each day thinking I Can do it, Yes I Will!” If you do this repeatedly you will see changes in your behaviour because you are rewiring your brain. This will help you to have the positive attitude you need to successfully stick with your plan. Studies have shown that anything you do for 21 days in a row becomes a habit.
It will take time to change your lifestyle. It is hard to break old habits. Make a list of things you would like to change in your life, come up with some strategies for dealing effectively with your back pain, weight loss, and sciatica. Stop making excuses for yourself. Put yourself and your health at the top of your priority list. Exercise is extremely beneficial when managing back pain. Next, take a look at what kinds of foods you eat. Are they contributing to your weight? When you eat out, do you order high fat foods, like french fries or a salad?
Goals are also important in any weight loss plan. Set small reachable goals and take small steps to achieve them. You have spent a lifetime developing bad habits you will not change them overnight. You must believe you can and you will.
Motivation is what keeps you on track. You are going to have your highs and lows, successes and failures with your weight loss, and good days and bad days with your back pain. The best motivator of all is success. Watching the pounds dissappear. Being able to fit into a dress or jeans again. Use weight loss and pain reduction as a motivator to get you off the couch.
Reward success. Not with junk food. Get yourself a new outfit or article of clothing when you reach a goal. Or go out dancing or do some activity that you haven’t done for awhile. Live your life it’s the only one you get!
Stay on track! You can do it!
If you have someone you trust who needs to lose weight as well ‘buddy up’. Exercise together prepare some meals together. Check in and talk about your progress and goals.
Does your spouse need to lose some pounds? Propose that the two of you work together to achieve your goals and to acheive a long and healthy life. It will benefit both of you and it will help you stay motivated and keep you on track.
